When writing it is normal to collect material and ideas from different places but it is expected that you write things up in your own words not copy word to word from someone else’s writing.
Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung look very much like twins. In fact there are hardly any differences between them. However having said all this they are not even from the same family but in fact from different parts of our world. They were brought together by the Hong Kong Emperor Entertainment Group in the year 2,001.
They go by the name: “Twins” and were the top choice of the new star competition called “Eggs” in 2,001. Since then they have become one of the most promising pop duos in Hong Kong. They even joined the battle at the time against Sars on May the 12th and gave $500.000 Hong Kong dollars to help fight the deadly disease
Middle School students like myself love the “Twins” and think of them as one of us. The “Twins” are two beautiful girls and they give us feelings of happiness. They sing with purity and simplicity in their voices.
“Since we came together we have bonded and got to understood each other quickly. We work great together as we have bonded like true sisters. It is out hope that we will never be separated from each other” said Charlene. Born in Canada and 19 years old when she arrived in Hong Kong. Her hobbies are singing, dancing, and design. She had also done some modeling. Gillian on the other hand was born in Hong Kong but after finishing high school she studied in Australia. She also had done some part time modeling.
In the Past two years they have released eight albums including “Twins Party” and “Touch of Love” They mainly sing about love, peace and friendship. “Their energetic special image has attracted many crazy fans” said Keizo Kitahara once, who is from Epson Hong Kong Ltd.
The popular girls won the most promising singers award in Hong Kong in 2001 and were selected as the best pop duo another year.
Not only have the Twins achieved fame within the music industry but also started into the film industry in 2002 staring in “Summer Breeze of Love”. They seldom sing on screen however. They have also made money from appearing in advertisements. Big name companies like Nokia, Epson, Coca-Cola LG and other companies have used them in their promotions.
They also stared together in “The Twins Effect” alongside international superstar Jackie Chun. The movie was a box office success in Hong Kong in 2003 because the Twins stared in it. The story was about an evil Duke who attempts to kill and collect the blood of a royal family of European vampires in order to become all powerful. The only surviving member of the family travels to Hong Kong, only to complicate his struggle by falling in love with a mortal girl who just happens to have a vampire hunter for a brother. It was a rather silly funny movie.
Although they are still very popular both girls hope to continue their studies. “You never stop learning” they said.
