Study Life Is A Bore. Zhou Yuan Class 1
Study life is like a bottle of water, it has no taste, it is bland and boring. Nothing interesting happens; everyday is just another day of study, study full stop so to speak.
But today is different, unusual in other words. There is a great story spreading around.
There is a beautiful girl in my class who is always happy. There is also a boy, actually there are many boys in my class but I only want to talk about one boy who is the tallest boy within our class. He is good friends with the beautiful girl. Today they came to class together. Straight away nearly everyone in our class stared at them. With so many eyes staring at them the girls face turned red and the boy shyly held his face down.
After class they stayed separate and didn’t talk to each other. They were silent. This is how they normally behaved. But once they are out of school they meet up and held hands and stared lovingly into each others faces. They walked together like this until they got home. They were very much in the love river together.
Fifteen years later.
One day as when I was walking along a street downtown I met them. They now had children and were taking them alone while they did some shopping. We talked with each other. “You ended up marrying him huh?” I asked the now beautiful woman. “Yes as soon as our parents would allow us to get married we did.” she replied. “You look very happy” I said back to her. “Yes we are a very happy family.” She answered back.
“Hello Aunt, I’m, Daniel. Nice to meet you” “Oh, so this is your son? He is very lovely. Daniel I am one of your parents classmates! It’s nice to meet you too!”
“Are you married now too Aunt?” No I answered. “Why not Aunt?” “Um I’ve been busy studying at university and haven’t had time to find a husband yet” “Dads got a brother that is somewhat fat and a little stupid who is still single. You should ask dad to introduce you!” “Um I have to go now bye!”
Luckily this story is not true. I mean the part about study being boring!

Chocolate. Class 1 Grade 8 Chen Xi.

There is a boy named Cary from my school who likes eating chocolate very much. He’s always dreaming about eating the biggest chocolate in the whole world.

One day as he was on the way to school when as normal he was thinking about chocolate his life changed. He was dreaming so much about chocolate that he failed to take notice of where he was walking. So of course he soon found that he was lost. There were a number of shops in the street where he ended up. One was a chocolate shop so he couldn’t resist going in to take a look around. The shop owner asked him what he wanted to buy. Cary said that he wanted a bar of chocolate and put 20 RMB on top of the glass showcase that the chocolates were in. The shop owner smiled at him but shook her head and told Cary that she didn’t accept the currency that Cary had. She then showed Cary a coin and told him that it was the only currency that she accepted. “I don’t accept any other currency.” she said. Cary had never seen the currency before. The currency had a man’s face on it. It was an unhappy face; not nice at all. He left the shop feeling quite unhappy also.

Anyway Cary started to try to find his way back to school. But of course he didn’t know the way as he didn’t know where he way. This is normal but when you are lost; as you can’t get lost if you know where you are.

Cary looked around to find someone to give him directions. “Ah, there is an old man. He should know.” He said to himself. “Hello Sir, could you tell me the way to Yancheng Middle School?” The old man doesn’t say anything but pushed a coin into Cary’s hand and then turned and walked away silently.

The coin that the old man has given Cary had his picture on it. Cary then realized that it was the same picture as on the coin that he was shown in the chocolate shop. He is very surprised of course. He had the feeling that he is in another reality. Needless to say but he was hungry and very much wanted to eat some chocolate. So when he found that he had walked around in a circle and was back in the same street as the chocolate shop again he didn’t hesitate to go back to see if the lady will accept the coin he has been given in exchange for some chocolate.

When Cary walked into the shop he showed the coin to the lady owner of the shop and asked if she would accept it as payment for some chocolate. She smiled and said that she would indeed accept his coin for some chocolate. She gave him a big piece of chocolate. Cary immediately stuffed the lot into his mouth just like a pig would do, just as he was leaving the shop. It tasted better than any chocolate that Cary had ever had in his whole life. Of course being a pig Cary wanted more chocolate straight away. However he didn’t have any more special coins. Life is hard; we all know this of course!

After wandering about for quite a while Cary eventually found his way back to familiar surroundings and found his school but he was too late for classes so he walked home.

The next morning Cary found that that he still had the taste of the wonderful chocolate in his mouth. At breakfast he started to stuff his breakfast down his throat. He got a big surprise but because as soon as he put any type of food into his mouth it turned into chocolate. Cary thought that he was in paradise and kept stuffing all types of food into his mouth.

After a full year of stuffing loads of food into his mouth and having it turn into chocolate Cary found that he was the fattest man on earth. Even when he drank water it changed into chocolate milk. He looks very much like Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars. He slowly started to think that his special ability wasn’t as great as he first though it was.

Cary got a friend to load him onto the back of his truck and take him in search of the chocolate shop that he had bought the special chocolate from. After a couple of weeks of going out every day in search of the chocolate shop he or at least his friend gave up trying to locate the chocolate shop.

During the second year after acquiring his special ability Cary found that he could no longer stand up that alone walk! He lay on a giant bed and his mother brought him food and cared for him. At this stage of his life Cary thought that life sucked. He wanted to suicide but he couldn’t move so he couldn’t suicide.

Well luckily for Cary there are many goddesses in China and he was lucky enough to get a visit from one. She came into his bedroom and said, “Hello fat boy how’s life? “It’s shit, real shit! What do you think it’s like lying here day after day with tubes stuck in you so you can toilet etc?” The goddess smiled at him and replied back. “You know you are a real pig. You didn’t care for a whole year that you were getting fatter and fatter. In fact you only thought that it was a problem when you could no longer stand up and walk.”

“Yeah, well I like chocolate a lot.

When you have to do homework non-stop, then you look for some kind of a distraction. Chocolate is my distraction from having to study non-stop.” stated Cary. “I see, well look where your distraction has got you!” replied the goddess. “Look I was doing okay until some magic was preformed on me. I was sold some special chocolate and since then everything I eat turns to chocolate in my mouth. I’ve tried to get the magic undone but I can’t find the shop where I bought the magic chocolate. Are you going to blame me for having magic preformed on me? I was only a little bit fat before this spell was put on me.” “Oh I see, well if I help you then will you stop being a pig and eat normal amounts of food?” “Well I don’t have much choice do I? How about giving me a brain like Albert Einstein so I can do my homework in a reasonable amount of time? Then I wouldn’t need a distraction like chocolate to calm my nerves.” Okay you have a good point so I’ll make you like Albert Einstein.” replied the goddess.

Well these days Cary is a very happy student but his teachers are not as happy as Cary is so much smarter than them.

The Whispers. Zou Tian Jing Class 1 Grade 8

“Boys, what did I tell you?” The school teacher spoke angrily. He was in trouble because his students did not want to study. Whenever his back was turned they were sure to begin whispering to each other.

“Girls, stop your whispering, Do you hear me!” But despite what he said they still kept whispering. He could not get them to stop. The afternoon was half over and the trouble was still growing. Then the teacher thought of a plan. “Children” he said. “We are going to play a new game. The next one that whispers must come out to the front and stand on the floor in the center here in the front of the class. Whoever gets caught must stand here until they see someone else whispering. Then they must tell me the whisper’s name and that person must come and take their place out here in the front of the class. The new whisperer that has then been caught must then watch and report when they have spotted another student whispering. So we will keep this going like this until school is over for the day.

The boy or girl who is standing at the end of the day will be punished for all of you. “What will the punishment be Mr. Johnson?” asked a bad boy. “A good thrashing” answered the teacher. He was very angry and also tired so he didn’t realize what he had said.

The children thought that the game was very funny. First off Tom whispered to Bill and was at once called out to stand at the front of the class. Less than two minutes later Bill saw Mary whispering so she had to take Bill’s place. Mary looked around and saw Mike asking his neighbor for a pencil so Mike had to take her place. And so the game went on until the clock showed that there was only ten minutes left until the lesson was over and the students would be dismissed from school.

The students realized that if they were standing at the end of the lesson that they would be thrashed good and proper by the teacher. So when they realized this they all behaved very well. They were ever so careful not to whisper to anyone about anything. No one wished to be standing at the end of the class at dismissal time. The clock could be heard ticking loudly as they was no noise at all in the class. Tom who was standing up for the forth time felt very nervous. He stood on one leg and then the other. He was watching all of us students very carefully but no one was whispering! But suddenly to Tom’s great joy he saw little Lucy lean over her desk and whisper to the girl in front of her. Lucy was the pet of the school. She was a very pretty girl, she had long hair, big blue eyes and everyone loved her. This was the first time that she had whispered for the whole day.

Tom didn’t care that that Lucy would get smashed up by the teacher. He just wished to escape the punishment. So without heart he called out in a loud voice. “Lucy Martin” he then walked off back to his seat. The entire class of students glared at him with hatred in their eyes.

Little Lucy had not meant to whisper. There was something which she wished very much to know before going home and so without thinking she had leaned over and whispered just three little words to the girl sitting in front of her. With tears welling up in her eyes she went out to the front of the class and stood in the whispers place.

Lucy was very much ashamed and hurt, for it was the first time that she had disgraced herself at school. The other girls felt sorry that she should suffer for so small a fault. The boys looked at poor little Lucy and wondered if the teacher would keep to his word and thrash Lucy.

The clock kept on ticking away. There was only one minute left till the bell would strike the time for dismissal at school. What a terrible shame that dear gentle little Lucy should be punished for all the unruly boys and girls in the class!

Then suddenly one of the most handsome boys in school that was in our class that was sitting in front of the teacher’s desk turned around squarely and whispered back to Tom three desks away. All of us girls realized that he was doing it purposely so that he would get caught and have to replace Lucy.

Everyone saw him do it. Little Lucy also saw him do it through her tears but said nothing. All the boys were astonished for that boy was the best scholar in the class and had never been known to break a rule before.

With only half a minute left to go the boy turned again and whispered so loudly that the teacher could hear him easily. It was impossible for the teacher not to hear him you could say. “Tom” he said loudly, “You deserve a good thrashing for what you did!” said Alan.

“Alan take Lucy’s place on the floor” said the teacher sternly. The brave boy stepped out quickly and smiled as little Lucy returned back to her seat still sobering. At that very moment the bell rang out the finish of the day. Yes, school was over for the day!

After all the students from our class had left the teacher took down his long birch rod and said. “Alan I suppose I must be true to my word. But tell me why you so deliberately broke the rule?” “I did it to save little Lucy.” said the handsome boy standing up straight and bravely. “I could not bear to know that Lucy would be punished so severely for her little lapse in attention. Tom was heartless and cowardly in his actions. He had been up four times for whispering.” “Alan you may go home” said the teacher. The teacher was very touched by Alan’s brave action.

For the rest of the school year Tom found that no one would speak or associate with him after he showed the type of person he was.
This story is as Lucy recollected it and retold it to me. Nowadays Lucy is happily married to her sweetheart Alan.
