My Hometown. By Jan. Class 106
My hometown is in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. It is a very beautiful city and it has pleasant climate.
Yixing belongs to Wuxi and it is very close to Changzhou, so it a very important place in connecting two big cities. Besides, although Yixing is a small city, it has a developed economy. People in my hometown all have a high standard of living.
In addition, Yixing has a very long history. It used to be called Jingxi, Yangxian and many other names during its long history. It is famous as a pottery city for its perfect technology in producing pottery teapots. Almost all people in China are in favor of these teapot.
As a city in the south, Yixing has a very pleasant climate. Usually it is moist all the year. And it won’t be too hot or too cold in summer or winter. Due to the delightful climate, Yixing has a lot beautiful views, such as The Sea of Bamboos, Karst Cave… It is a good place for tourists to visit.
There are many specialties in Yixing. The most famous is green tea. It will be a wonderful experience if you drink the tea with a locally made pottery teapot. What’s more, there are many other specialties. For example, Yixing is a place suitable for planting shoot. All the shoots are very delicious here and it is popular among the people of our country. If you have the chance, you can taste dried bean curd mutton and other food.
I think my hometown is a very beautiful place. I love it very much.

Sue: Hi, Jane. What are you doing?
Jane: Hi, Sue. I am reading today’s newspaper.
Sue: Is something happening?
Jane: Yes. I read a piece of surprising news. It shocked me to see it.
Sue: What happened? Can you tell me more?
Jane: Yes, of course. The story mainly tells us that a man caught a fish.
Sue: A fish? Is that a surprising thing? I don’t think so.
Jane: No. Please listen to me patiently.
Sue: OK.
Jane: That fish wasn’t a usual sized fish. It was a very big fish. The news said that the fish was more than one meter long and was also very strong.
Sue: More than one meter? Oh, my god. It’s really a big fish.
Jane: What’s more, before the fish was caught, the sky became dark and it seemed to rain. That man felt a little frightened. But when he caught that big fish, he became very happy.
Sue: It’s really a surprising thing. What did the man deal with that big fish?
Jane: At the beginning, he wanted to sell it for much money. However, at that moment, he saw the tears in the fish’s eyes, so he changed his idea. He decided to let the fish go back to the lake. He thought that the fish must be the ancestor of all fishes, so he couldn’t kill it.
Sue: That was very kind of him. I have never seen such a big fish.
Jane: Come on over here and look.. It’s the picture of that fish.
Sue: Oh, it’s very beautiful. I will tell my classmates about this when I see them.

Who is The Most Beautiful Girl? By Sarah. Class 114
All girls dream of becoming beautiful girls and so do I. As the saying goes, nothing is impossible. One day, I took part in a competition which aimed to select the most beautiful girl. It was an enjoyment for me to stand on the stage and show my beauty to the whole world. There’s no doubt that everyone was attracted by the sight of my golden yellow hair, fine face white skin and sexy figure. At that moment, I knew that I was the most beautiful girl and I was so excited that started laughing. It’s the laugh that woke me up. As I soon knew, it was just a glorious but unreal dream.
To be honest, I felt a little bit disappointed at the beginning but things changed a lot for me later. Mom knew the truth and she told me that “Any girl whose heart is kind and fine is also one of the most beautiful girls in this world. So, just be confident and trust that people love you because of your heart not your appearance. In my eyes, you are just my angel mum said to me and the most beautiful girl in the world.”
I was deeply moved and started to learn that there are no ugly people other than evil individuals. The ugly ones are those who have abnormal minds full of envy, vicious, vanity, etc. So it is important to know that only your heart is beautiful then you can also become a most beautiful girl so that the shadow land will turn into beautiful limelight.
