Living, Dying plus love. Class 13 student.
A long time ago there was a young princess called Xu Xing who was very beautiful and a young prince by the name of Bai Han who was indeed a handsome young boy. One evening in the dark of night a jealous boy who was the son of a sorcerer stole into the home of the king and tried to kill the young prince. Bai Han however turned into a Fusang tree (Mulberry tree) instead of dying from the powerful spell that the sorcerer’s son had cast. He had become a plant man.
What a pity this was, the lovely princess in one kingdom and the young prince in another kingdom meaning the plant kingdom. The young princess cried and cried and also shouted and shouted as she knew that her brother the prince had been transformed into the tree. Each day she dreamed of playing with Bai Han in her father’s beautiful gardens.
Bai Han could hear the distress of his sister the princess but could say nothing in his new form. Mulberry trees can’t speak as humans can. You probally know this of course! He wanted to run to his sister and hug her with brotherly love, that he had for her and play with her once again.
The Months Went By In Loneliness For Xu Xing!
Xu Xing couldn’t believe that her brother would never be able to play with her again. Every day she would look lovingly at the Mulberry tree and sit near it. She would water it and put compost around its roots to keep it strong and healthy. Little birds would sing songs in Bai Han’s branches and poop to feed Bai Han’s also. Xu Xing grew strong from being fed compost along with poop.
Eventually however Xu Xing wanted to share closer ties with Bai Han so she started to think of how she cold join him in the plant kingdom. In the end she decided to climb a nearby mountain to the top and then jump off a cliff face to the rocks below. She spent many hours climbing up the steep rocky mountain to its top. Once she reached the top she climbed down the other side to where a steep cliff face was that dropped away hundreds of meters to rocks below.
The sun was out and the sky was a beautiful blue plus little birds were singing. Xu Xing jumped towards certain death below just as she jumped she caught sight of a boy watching her. You don’t have long to think but once you have jumped off a cliff face. Normally you just scream for a bit then splat blood everywhere and you shut up for ever. This was not to be but for Xu Xing.
Suddenly thousands of swallows (A type of small bird) surrounded Xu Xing and stopped her from falling to certain death. Xu Xing was quite upset after hiking up the mountain for hours and getting the courage to jump to be stopped from becoming part of the plant kingdom thereby joining her beloved brother. How unfair she thought, even nature is against me.
The fast flying swallows released Xu Xing back onto the ground a long way away from the cliff face. Then through some kind of magic they formed into a handsome young man by the name of Xu Yiming. Xu Xing was greatly shocked by all this of course.
Why are you stopping me from joining my brother in the plant kingdom she asked? I am very lonely and I no longer wish to live this lonely existence. Xu Yiming realized that he had a major problem on his hands! Look I’m kind of good at making life form changes as you should have noticed. How about we go and see your brother together and see if we can’t get him back into a human form, huh? Well this got Xu Xing imagination going so she grabbed Xu Yiming’s hand and dragged him down the mountain like a rag doll. Xu Yiming had not been expecting this to happen quite like this. By the time they had reached the Fusang tree Xu Yiming was worn out from being pulled along by Xu Xing.
Now what shall we do Xu Yiming asked Xu Xing. My voice is special said Xu Yiming so let us call for your brother together to come out of his tree body back to us in a human form again. So they both yelled for Bai Han to come back again as a human. Then the magic happened. All the leaves fell off the big Mulberry tree to the ground and then reformed into the human form of Bai Han. Xu Yiming then changed again into to a flock of swallows and flew off into the sunset.
After a very happy life Xu Xing and Bai Han eventually died and then they came back as butterflies. They can always be seen flying together in the giant Mulberry tree if you go to visit the king’s gardens.
