True Love
One spring morning Li was walking around the garden of her parent’s home trying to loose her sadness. She was a twenty years old girl who was a university student plus she was very clever. However she wasn’t beautiful, in fact she was very, very ordinary. Sometimes she threw a party at her rich parent’s home and invited many handsome clever boys to come. However if one of the handsome boys danced with her then other students will taunt her and her dancing partner, “Ugly girl with handsome boy why” “Ugly girl, handsome boy” and so on! Normally the boy will become so embarrassed that he will stop dancing with her. At most the boy will finish the dance but then no longer dance with Li.
Things can change sometimes and this was to be the case for Li. One day as she was attempting to become more popular with the other students and was once again holding a party at her parent’s home something happened. Li looked about at the girls that had come to her party and noticed that they were mostly attractive girls. She walked out from the party into the garden at the back of her parent’s home in despair. How could she attract a handsome clever boy she wondered? Suddenly a goddess appeared in front of her in the garden. Li ran and hid behind a tree. The goddess was very beautiful and Li was ashamed of her ordinary appearance, so she hid as she didn’t want to let the goddess see her face and body.
The goddess however smiled at her and said, “Do you really want to be very, very pretty? If you do then I can help you.” Li’s face took on a happy smile as she quickly came out from hiding and said, “Please, please, please make me really, really pretty! I want to look like a film star like Angela Zhang Shao Han (Angela Chang) from Taiwan who now lives in Canada. You know the singer and dancer who is now a movie star. All the boys say that she is so yummy. (Sweet and cute) I want to be like her!”
The goddess looked at Li and smiled and said, “Yes I can change you to look similar to Angela Chang. First close your eyes for a moment. Now you can look in your parents’ goldfish pond at your reflection! Li opened her eyes and rushed to the goldfish pond to see her reflection. When she looked at her reflection in the water she could hardly believe how beautiful the goddess had made her. She thanked the goddess over and over again. The goddess smiled and then vanished away. When Li went back inside her parents’ home she found that the party has finished and all the students from her university had left.
Li’s parents saw her walking about in their home and asked her if she had seen their daughter. Li had a most difficult time convincing her parents that she was in fact their daughter. They asked her many private questions for a couple of hours. They found it so hard to believe that a goddess had in fact turned they ordinary unattractive daughter into a beauty queen. Li could see that she was going to have a huge problem convincing everyone at university that she was in fact Li. However she was lucky as it is the start of the summer holidays so she decided that she will tell everyone that she had had plastic surgery done on her after she got back to university after the brake.
When she turned up for school, the school administration found her story hard to believe so she told them the truth. The school found the truth harder to believe than the lie so they accept the lie after checking her fingerprints. The girls at the university thought that a beautiful alien from outer space has taken over Li’s body. The boys all went crazy over her and tried to outdo each other for her attention.
Li has some problems adjusting to being so popular. There was a young male student that has always been nice to her before when she was not beautiful. He wasn’t really what you could call handsome. Li thought that maybe handsome boys were not that great perhaps after all. So she asked the ordinary unhandsome plain boy to the school dance. The night of the dance she danced with him all evening. She listened to the “Beautiful girl, ugly boy why?” calls from other students all evening but paid no attention to them. When it was time to go home she gave the boy she was with a goodnight hug and a big kiss. The boy was so shocked that he has a heart attack and fell down dead on the spot. Li learnt from this not to be so nice to ordinary boys especially on a first outing. Of course all the girls at Uni were now really convinced that an alien had indeed taken over Li’s body. The boys but considered everything normal however as most considered that they too would have died from shock from being kissed so suddenly by such a beautiful girl.
Anyway eventually Li found the man of her dreams and also became a movie actress.
