Dream.

Dream. By Miki. Class 106
Amy: Tom, I’ve been so worried about you.
Tom: What’s up, honey? I’m ok. Why do you look so down?
Amy: I dreamed about you yesterday….
Tom: That’s great! To be frank, I dream about you everyday.
Amy: In my dream, you got a terrible disease. I took you to the doctor, but he said he had no idea on what terrible disease you had. I was so sad…
Tom: You dreamed about me the whole night, right? No wonder I sneezed this morning when I woke up!
Amy: Oh, you sneezed, really? Are you ok?
Tom: Take it easy! I’m fine.
Amy: But in my dream, you… you died in the end after much suffering..
Tom: Because you love me, you care for me, you worry about me, and so you had that bad dream. Don’t worry. In fact, I once dreamed that you fell in love with another guy and broke up with me. I was worried to death nearly that it would come true. But hay, we are still together.
Amy: Tom, I won’t. You know, I won’t leave you…
Tom: Yep. I just want to tell you, that dreams are not real. So don’t take them so seriously. Once I dreamed about being chased after by a fierce tiger down the main street of Yancheng.
Amy: I see. But why do we have such strange dreams?
Tom: Maybe it’s because we are under a lot of stress. At that time when we were quarrelling and I had a difficult project to do, I dreamed a lot.
Amy: I’m so sorry that I put pressure on you. My boss had asked me to finish a very hard project ahead of schedule currently. I’m worried about whether I can finish it on time for him.
Tom: That’s the reason for your dream last night.. Just go ahead and do it. If you have any problems, I can help you. I won’t let you down.
Amy: It’s so nice of you. But I am a little worried about you. You said, you sneezed this morning and it’s getting cold now, please put on more clothes.
Tom: OK. I will take good care of myself. Don’t worry, honey!

A Fake Girlfriend.

A Fake Girlfriend. By Tony. Class 106
Tom: Hi Sue! I’d like to talk with you!
Sue: Hi, Tom. Well go ahead then, I’m listening.
Tom: Here is the thing. You know that we live together of course, we rent the same apartment etc, so could you um…?
Sue: I’m sorry? I don’t get your point. Could you be more direct? I mean clear on what you are on about!
Tom: Okay. It’s really hard for me to say this. I mean I’m very embarrassed to have to ask you for help.
Sue: Tom, once more what is your point?
Tom: Could you pretend to be my girlfriend for a day? I mean just one
day! Just, just this one time please…….
Sue: What? Why? What have you got yourself into now?
Tom: Um, well you see, all my colleagues from college have now got girlfriends except me. Three days ago, I was drunk and I felt ashamed about not having a girlfriend. So I told them I had already had a girlfriend and that we had been living together for a long time. Yes, it’s you, but you are just my roommate I realize that of course. So…um…..I made up a story. I knew I should’ve but I was half drunk and all.
Sue: So you lied to them?
Tom: Yes, and now they are going to visit me tomorrow to meet my girlfriend. You are my roommate actually as you know. Could you just do me this one big favor just this once?
Sue: Sure but this will be the last time. Just to clarify: it’s just a one-day job so you’d better find a real girlfriend as soon as possible.
Tom: Right but just for this one day can you fake being my girlfriend?
Sue: Ok then but what should I do? I mean what do I have to say? Like am I
supposed to say that you are the best lover in China or something like
that?
Tom: Oh no, you needn’t exaggerate or anything like that. It’s not that difficult. You only need to stay close to me and smile at me and tell them how we got to meet each other. If they ask for more, just tell them that such things are private.
Sue: No problem. When will they arrive?
Tom: Tomorrow at 9 a.m. We can prepare the lunch in the kitchen together and then I’ll fill you in on some more details.
Sue: More details? Oh my god!
Tom: Sorry. I know it’s a little troublesome. Please help me!
Sue: All right. Would you mind but if I give you some advice?
Tom: Of course not! Go ahead!
Sue: I’m a single woman. You are a single man. There is not going to be any pretence if you and I are in a real friendship.
Tom: What? What do you mean when you say in a real friendship?
Sue: I think I’ve made my point clear.
Tom: Oh. That’s awesome. I have a real girlfriend wow.

A Journey to Paris

A Journey to Paris. By Emma. Class 092
Jack: Excuse me! Is this seat available? Madam.
Sue: Yes, please take it!
Jack: Thank you. I’m planning to go to Paris for several days, and you?
Sue: Me too, I’m just going to go traveling around. I’m intending to see the Eiffel Tower
and I’ll be taking as many photos as possible of France while I’m here.
Jack: Oh! You must be a photographer, correct?
Sue: Pretty smart aren’t you! I’ve been planning this journey for a long time. I can’t wait
to see the people in Paris along with the sights. The train however is too slow. It
seems like it is taking forever to get to Paris.
Jack: Ah, that’s really great. You are not like me, I need to work day in and day out as
well as stay up late in the evenings to gain some inspiration for new designs.
Sue: What kind of design do you do? Don’t tell me you are clothes designer.
Jack: Pretty close shoes actually! I’ve designed shoes for several years. Each time I meet
a person, my eyes focus onto their shoes. It’s kind of funny huh?
Sue: Yeah… a little. So, that’s the reason why you are going to Paris? People there are
quite fashionable, especially the young and rich.
Jack: Yes. Paris is a place which is full of inspiration; I thought that I needed to visit
Paris to get some good ideas for new shoe designs.
Sue: Maybe I can take some photos for you also then. What do you think?
Jack: I’m so excited that I’ve forgotten your name!
Sue: I’m Sue and I’m from London.
Jack: Oh, Sue. I’m Jack. From now on, we are friends then. We can travel around Paris
together.
Sue: That’s great since I have been traveling alone.
Jack: Perfect!
